I am a Brooklyn–based composer and performer specializing in sacred and choral music. My work is rooted in the Anglican tradition, with a particular focus on liturgical composition and the living practice of church music.
Five of my recent compositions—including my Preces & Responses and Missa Brevis—are featured in the Grace and St. Peter’s Choral Series (curated by Jordan Prescott, DMA, AAGO). Many of these were premiered by the Grace and St. Peter’s Choir (Baltimore, MD), and reflect my ongoing engagement with contemporary approaches to historic forms of Anglican liturgy.
As a singer specializing in early and sacred music, I perform regularly with ensembles including Apollo’s Fire, Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity, Collegium Cincinnati, and Bach Collegium Fort Wayne. My performance of Bach’s Ich habe genug (BWV 82) at the inaugural Cincinnati Bach Festival, with Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra principal oboist Dwight Parry, was noted for its “dark, caressing voice” and expressive clarity. I have also appeared as a recitalist in programs of English art song, including concert:nova’s re:member, where I was described as a highlight of the performance.
Alongside my performing and composing work, I serve as Director of Communications for the National Association of Episcopal Schools. I previously worked at St. Thomas Episcopal Church (Terrace Park, OH) as Communications Coordinator and Music Associate, where I accompanied services, sang as a section leader, and appeared regularly as a soloist for Bach Vespers.
I grew up in the United Kingdom and was a chorister at St. Peter’s Collegiate Church in Wolverhampton. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Baldwin Wallace University and a Master of Music in Voice from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
