The Choral Fanfare is a new setting of the “O Quam Gloriosum” text and was written for my wedding on January 4, 2025. This new anthem features a brooding organ introduction accompanies a procession, followed by choral fireworks announcing the bride’s arrival. This piece could work well at a festal evensong or mass for All Saints’ Day, or any occasion requiring a procession.
Scored for SATB + organ (with divisi). Recorded by the Choir of St. James’ and Friends with Dr. Kenneth Miller, Organ.
Dedicated to Karmen on our Wedding Day, Saturday, January 4, 2025 at St. James’ Church in New York City.
Text
Antiphon for All Saints Second Vespers
O quam gloriosum est regnum,
in quo cum Christo gaudent omnes Sancti!
Amicti stolis albis,
sequuntur Agnum, quocumque ierit.
Alleluia. Amen.
O how glorious is the kingdom
in which all the saints rejoice with Christ,
clad in robes of white
they follow the Lamb wherever he goes.
Alleluia. Amen.
